Description
Carteret's Adult High School (AHS) program prepares students for more than graduation—it prepares them for the workforce. Through a flexible, tuition-free pathway to earning an accredited high school diploma, students build the academic foundation, employability skills, and confidence needed to succeed in college, career training, military service, and today's competitive job market.
As part of Carteret Community College's commitment to workforce development, the AHS program connects students with career exploration, workforce training, academic advising, and support services that help them transition seamlessly into high-demand career pathways. Whether your goal is to earn industry-recognized credentials, continue your education, or enter the workforce, the Adult High School program provides the foundation for lifelong learning and economic opportunity.
By partnering with local employers, community organizations, and workforce agencies, Carteret Community College empowers Adult High School students to develop the skills employers need while strengthening the workforce and supporting the economic vitality of Carteret County.

- Social Security or Tax ID card (signed) (copies not accepted). If you do not have access to one of these items, you may still be eligible to participate. Call us at (252) 222-6083 for information.
- Government or state issued photo ID (no school or work ID’s accepted)
- Sealed Official High School Transcript from last high school attended (If there is not a transcript available, student will start classes with 0 credits.)
